Welcome to the home of the Worldwide Christian Web Prayers.
As you probably figured out yourself, this site is about the Christian ways of Prayer. While the Lord Jesus Christ was walking on the surface of the earth, he taught us that prayer basically is the biggest power that God gave to all His children. Reading the bible you could say that Jesus himself proved how importance this power was. You might not know it but prayer wasn't always a necessary thing. Adam and Eve walked with God in the Garden of Eden:

[And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? AV Gen. 3:8,9]

For them it would be a little silly to pray to God while they were in fact walking right beside Him. After the fall of mankind things changed dramatically. God was no longer able to walk around with His Children and more and more contact between humans and God faded away. This process was also recognised by man to such extent that the bible gives us this next shocking report:

[And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD. AV Gen. 4:26]

It's a line you'll easily miss, but meditate on the consequence for a moment... shocking, isn't it? Even in these days prayer is a widely discussed matter in every Christian church throughout the entire world.
The reason for this discussion is in the first place a practical one and can also be found in the bible in the book of Luke:

[And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of the disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. KJV Lu 11:1]

Remarkable request for those who saw Jesus pray. These days disciples still ask this one question: "Lord, teach us to pray."

Second - The majority of the Christians these days, see themselves confronted with a phenomenon know as 'end of times'. Be aware, times. It is know that God, the Creator of all things, has a plan or an agenda if you want. God Himself doesn't live with time as we do; He is the Eternal one, the Alpha and the Omega, beginning and end. God has always made sure that we would understand one thing... there will come an end to times, from there it's on to eternity. (Sorry for all out there who think that mankind won't survive; we will) Problem seems to be that God didn't tell us when. In this way He prevents that we would sit down and say: "Why worry? Tomorrow is the end of times. Come let us drink and celebrate." What he did tell us, through His prophets and Christ, was how to recognise the end of times. More important is this record:

[And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Mat 24:4 - 39]

Prayer could be described as communicating with God or seeking the Kingdom, or is that activity that makes it possible that 'things will happen'. Christians rely on prayer when somebody is ill or is suffering emotional stress; Prayer heals.
Also, prayer is considered one of the 'fruits of the Spirit', as a result of an commitment to God.
Prayer is that feeling that makes you want to say Yahoo to God. This Yahoo kind of feeling, in a more respectable way, is also called Worship. Sometimes even to that extend that you'll be 'out of your mind' while at the same time you can be astonished, if not overwelmed by God's Greatness.

Prayer doesn't come by itself, it's a gift from God. No man can pray unless God gives him or her a heart of prayer. Therefor prayer without faith doesn't bear fruit. Prayer, faith and love go side by side.
It isn't important how, where, when, with who or not with who, the bottomline is this: pray...

Prayer done in God's way, is basically the biggest magic there will ever exist.
Or to describe prayer in its best way:

"Prayer is like the dove that Noah sent forth,
which blessed him not only when it returned with an olive-leaf in its mouth,
but when it never returned at all."
Robinson's Job.

This page is about God's magic of prayer.
And you are here for a reason.

Trust me...
